Hello, my maternal great-great-grandmother was Martha Jane Mullins Shores Bartley, a confirmed daughter of Isaac and Elizabeth Mullins, children of Holly Creek John and Ambrose Mullins. My maternal great-great grandfather was William Jackson Shores and I don’t know a lot about him or his past (he died young, in 1864-1916) so I would love to find more records about him and other Shores in the area who may be related. I also have grandparents whose surnames were Vanover, Elkins, and J/Gilton. Most all lived in the Dickenson County area so I’m wondering if it would be worth it to stop here at Wise for a visit soon or if I just stick to the Clintwood Historical Society. Thanks for any help in advance!
